OTHER EXPERIENCECurrently I also send out weekly newsletters, using Constant Contact and EzEmail, to Wiltshire, Somerset and Sussex promoting key business and networking events in those areas. I'm sending these as part of my work for Business-Scene.
For work experience I went to Hreod Parkway school helping out with the IT technicians. This work involved setting up networks using a Windows 2000 server and Windows XP client computers, partitioning hard drives using Partition Magic 7, installing applications such as Microsoft Office 2000 and other educational applications and installing the operating system Windows XP.
More recently, I have repaired wireless network connections that use a D-Link, Netgear or Belkin router, configured Zone Alarm, F-Secure, Windows XP built-in and Microsoft Defender firewalls to allow access for certain programs, set up AOL, NTL World (now Virgin Media), BT Connect and Tiscalli Internet connections by configuring the network router and the computers to assign unique IP addresses from the broadband modem using DHCP (if supported), configured email addresses and settings in Microsoft Outlook 2003 and Microsoft Outlook Express and cleaned up systems using anti virus software such as AVG, Anti-Vir and McAfee, and spy ware removers such as SpyBot: Search and Destroy, AdAware: SE, Registry Mechanic and Spyware Doctor.
I have connected to MySql databases through my PHP websites and have connected to Microsoft Access databases through my Visual Basic applications. As well as this I have used Microsoft Access as a stand-alone application. For all Microsoft Office applications I have written Macros allowing them to communicate with each other and amend data from one application to another.
