What information do we collect?

Through Google Analytics

If you have javascript turned on then we use an analytics application from Google called Google Analytics. This won't hold any personal data about you, but will just give us an indication of how many people visit our website, how long they spend on the website, where they go on the website and where they leave our website.

When signing up for the forums

Information we collect includes: your age (to ensure participants are over the age of 16), your email address in order for you to login and a password to protect your privacy. You can also choose to give us your website link which will be used to display on your personal website so that people can visit your website, a username which will be used throughout the website to show if you made a post or started a category/topic and your name as used on your profile.

When you use the contact us form

We will collect your name, email and message. This is then emailed directly to us where we will use this data to reply to your question. The information will be used in no other way.

When writing a comment

The name that you use will be used on the website, and will be used to show who wrote the comment. If you are logged in to the forums then it will show your username and this will link back to your forum profile.

When using the live chat

If you're logged in to the forums then you won't need to enter any data here. If you're not logged in to the forums then you will need to enter your name and an email address. The name you provide will show us who we're talking to on the live chat. The email address is used to stop Internet robots from sending spam using the function and using up the website's bandwidth. The email address will not be used for any marketing purposes.

What will we do with your information?

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we will use your email address to send you our monthly emails. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by using the unsubscribe link found at the bottom of the website.

We will only use your information for the reasons shown above. We will not pass your information to third parties.

Is your data secure?

Yes, your data is held on an online database which is password protected using an encrypted password.

What are cookies?

Cookies are used to hold information about the website on your own computer. You can turn cookies off, but that will result in not being able to login to the forums. The cookies are only used on this website for use with the forums. If you are logged in to the forums then the live chat and site comments won't ask any information but will use the information direct from your profile. The only 2 cookies we hold are your email address and your forum password. The password cookie is encrypted for security reasons. The cookies are used to determine whether you are currently looged in.
